Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak SC have confirmed that their team bus was involved in a minor road accident while travelling to Samraboi for their Matchday 33 fixture against FC Samartex 1996.
According to a statement released by the club, the incident occurred after a tricycle reportedly collided with the team bus while crossing the road during the team’s journey to honour the league encounter.
The club disclosed that a few roadside victims affected by the accident were immediately rushed to the hospital at Wassa Simpa for medical attention. Fortunately, all those affected received treatment and have since been discharged.
Hearts of Oak also assured supporters and the wider football fraternity that all players and club officials on board the bus escaped unharmed.
The Phobians expressed appreciation to fans and well-wishers for the concern and support shown following the incident as the team continues preparations for the crucial league fixture against Samartex.
