Bobrisky opens up about his past dealings with the EFCC in a bitter response to the recent death of an EFCC officer in Anambra State.
Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, took to Instagram on January 20, 2025, to express his disdain for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following the news of the official’s passing.
“I can’t stand reading anything about the EFCC anymore; it makes me feel sick. You want the public to sympathize with the loss of one of your staff, but you are among the most wicked people in Nigeria,” he wrote.
Bobrisky recounted his own experience with the agency, revealing, “When I was in your custody, you searched my home, claiming I was involved in money laundering. I’d take the police over you any day.”
He also mentioned they pressured him to provide the contact information of Papaya, whose real name is Abike Halima Raheem. “After giving my statement, you asked me for Papaya’s number. I don’t have it; even if I did, I wouldn’t betray her like that. I’m not a snitch.”
Bobrisky asserted his commitment to being a law-abiding citizen and mentioned that he could have left Nigeria immediately upon receiving an invitation from the EFCC, but chose to honor it instead, given his status as a public figure.
