BLACK STARS COACH CHRIS HUGHTON TAKES ACCOUNTABILITY FOLLOWING 4-0 LOSS TO USA

In the aftermath of a disappointing 4-0 defeat against the United States, Chris Hughton, the coach of Ghana’s national football team, candidly acknowledges accountability for the team’s subpar performance.

The Black Stars, who were determined to redeem themselves after a previous loss to Mexico just days prior, found themselves trailing by four goals in the first half of the match at Nashville’s GEODIS Park. In the 10th minute, Gio Reyna capitalized on a rebound opportunity following a less-than-ideal clearance by Nicholas Opoku.

Captain Christian Pulisic extended the lead with a 19th-minute penalty, courtesy of a foul in the box. Folarin Balogun’s immaculate finish and Gio Reyna’s deft chip secured a convincing victory for the United States.

Although Ghana made several substitutions in the second half to stage a comeback, their efforts proved insufficient as the United States claimed victory.

Coach Hughton expressed his remorse and assumed full responsibility for the team’s underwhelming performance against the USA.

In November, Ghana will face two crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and the Comoros Islands.
