Black Stars’ AFCON failure proves nothing is working under NPP – John Mahama.

NDC Presidential Candidate John Mahama has criticized the ruling NPP government, claiming that all sectors are underperforming and failing to serve Ghanaians.

Speaking at Akim Oda as part of his Eastern Regional tour, John Mahama highlighted the recent failure of the Black Stars to qualify for the African Cup of Nations as a reflection of broader issues facing the nation.

He argued that the NPP’s governance has affected not only core services but even Ghana’s pride in sports.

“Under the NPP, nothing is working,” Mr. Mahama asserted. “Every sector is struggling, even the Black Stars, who once helped us forget our struggles, have missed out on AFCON qualification for the first time in 20 years. It shows just how deeply things have deteriorated under this administration.”

Addressing a large crowd at the Akim Oda lorry station, he called for change, insisting that the NDC is the only party committed to true development.

John Mahama accused the NPP of neglecting national progress and focusing only on securing votes near election time, saying, “The current government only remembers development during elections, hoping to buy loyalty. But ask yourselves—how has your life changed in the past eight years?”

He urged voters to take whatever the government might offer during the campaign but to reflect on the past eight years and vote with wisdom.

Confident in the NDC’s development agenda, John Mahama concluded, “If this were an exam, the NPP would get an F9—a complete failure. It’s time to show them the exit and bring in an NDC government to reset and restore our country.”
