Black Satellites Resume Camping Ahead of U-20 Africa Cup of Nations

The Black Satellites, Ghana’s U-20 national team, will resume camping in Accra on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, as they continue preparations for the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team has been on a week-long break following their return from Morocco, where they participated in a 3-nation tournament in Rabat.

 

Under the guidance of Coach Desmond Ofei, the team will train in Accra and engage in a series of friendlies to fine-tune their skills and tactics.

These preparations will be crucial in helping the team achieve their goal of claiming their fifth continental youth title.

 

The 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Egypt from April 26 to May 18, 2025. Ghana has been paired with Group A alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, DR Congo, and a team from the Central African Football Federations Union (UNIFFAC).

The Black Satellites will need to perform well in the group stage to progress to the knockout rounds.

 

The Black Satellites have a rich history in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, having previously lifted the trophy in 1993, 1999, 2009, and 2021.

They also won the FIFA U-20 World Cup once in Egypt in 2009. With this impressive record, the team is determined to make a strong impression in the upcoming tournament.

 

The following players are expected to report to the Erata Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, to join the team’s training camp.

The players will work together to build a strong team dynamic and prepare for the challenges ahead.
