Black Queens Squad Announcement for Pink Ladies Cup Set for Tomorrow

The squad announcement for Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, the Black Queens, for the Pink Ladies Cup is scheduled for tomorrow, February 20, 2026. This has been confirmed through recent posts and updates shared by official Ghana Football Association sources.

The Pink Ladies Cup is a four-nation invitational tournament taking place in the United Arab Emirates between February 28 and March 6, 2026. It follows a round-robin format and is regarded as an important preparation step for the Black Queens ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The participating teams are Ghana, Hong Kong, Russia, and Tanzania.

The match schedule (times shown in GMT) is as follows:

Ghana vs Hong Kong on February 28 at 16:00
Ghana vs Russia on March 3 at 16:00
Ghana vs Tanzania on March 6 at 21:00

Games are expected to be played at venues such as the Al Hamriya Sports Club Stadium or comparable facilities commonly used for international friendlies in the UAE.

Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren and his technical team view the tournament as a valuable opportunity to test combinations, evaluate current form, check squad depth, and blend experienced players with younger or newly emerging talents.

The Black Queens are preparing for their WAFCON group campaign, which includes matches against Cameroon, Mali, and Cape Verde. Following the Pink Ladies Cup, the team is also scheduled to play an additional friendly against Ivory Coast in Morocco as part of their final build-up.

The upcoming squad is likely to include several familiar names from recent qualifiers and camps, such as captain Portia Boakye, midfielders Grace Asantewaa, Jennifer Cudjoe, Evelyn Badu, and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, goalkeepers Cynthia Konlan and Afi Amenyaku, and defenders including Comfort Yeboah.

There is considerable discussion among supporters about whether additional overseas-based players or promising talents from the Black Princesses age-group setup will be called up to add freshness and competition for places.

The full squad list is expected to be released tomorrow through the Ghana Football Association’s official website, their verified social media accounts, and various partnered media platforms. Fans are watching closely, as the selected group will give an early indication of the team’s direction heading into the continental tournament later in the year.
