Black Queens Prepare for Senegal Friendlies Ahead of Women’s Africa Cup of Nations
The Black Queens will soon resume camping as they gear up for their upcoming international friendlies against Senegal.
The team is set to travel to Dakar as part of their preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco later this year.
The Black Queens will face off against the Teranga Lionesses on April 5, 2025, in the first of two games, followed by another clash on April 8, 2025, in Dakar. These friendlies will serve as valuable preparation for the team ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Queens previously played a friendly against Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses earlier this year, losing 1-0 to a last-minute goal. This experience will likely inform their approach to the upcoming friendlies against Senegal.
The Black Queens are making a return to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2018.
Under the guidance of new coach Kim Lars Bjorkegeren, the team will be seeking to make a significant impact at the tournament.
The Black Queens have been drawn into a challenging Group C, where they will face reigning champions South Africa, West African neighbors Mali, and Tanzania. The tournament is scheduled to take place from July 5 to July 26, 2025.
