Birmingham City have today confirmed the exciting loan signing of Ibrahim Osman, the highly-rated Ghanaian winger from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, AhotorSports can confirm.
The 21-year-old joins the Championship club on a deal that will keep him at St. Andrew’s until the end of the 2025-26 season, with the move subject to final clearance.
Osman, who turns 22 later this year, has already built an impressive reputation despite his young age. He began his senior career in Denmark with Nordsjælland, where his electric performances on the wing — including six goals and strong creative output — earned him a big-money £16 million transfer to Brighton in the summer of 2024.
Although he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Seagulls, his potential has seen him gain valuable experience on loan elsewhere, including a spell in the Netherlands and most recently the first half of this season in Ligue 1 with Auxerre, where he featured in 14 matches and contributed two assists.
Brighton have now recalled him early from that French loan to facilitate this switch to England, giving the talented attacker a fresh opportunity to showcase his skills in the competitive Championship environment.
Known for his pace, dribbling ability, flair, and versatility across the forward line, Osman represents a significant boost to Birmingham’s attacking options as they push through the second half of the campaign.
This move marks the club’s third addition of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of defender Kai Wagner and midfielder Jhon Solis, underlining their ambition to strengthen the squad under manager Chris Davies.
Blues fans will be hoping the Ghana international can quickly adapt, bring some Premier League pedigree, and make an immediate impact as the team chases promotion or a strong finish in the league.
