In a stunning upset, Bibiani Goldstars suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Karela United, marking their first home loss of the season after an impressive 15-game unbeaten run.
The result dealt a severe blow to the ‘Golden Boys’ title aspirations, as they were displaced from the top of the league standings by Nations FC, who secured a 1-0 victory over Accra Lions at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
The decisive moment came in the 43rd minute when Sulemana struck for Karela United, slotting home the only goal of the match. Despite relentless efforts to stage a comeback in the second half, Goldstars’ attacks were thwarted by a resilient Karela defense, leaving the home side frustrated and empty-handed.
