Berekum Chelsea Coach Downplays Kotoko’s Performance

Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu believes his team was not outclassed by Asante Kotoko despite their 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup semifinals.

Kotoko’s Albert Amoah scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

Boadu expressed disappointment but maintained that Kotoko didn’t dominate the match.

“They did not do anything better than my team. They scored us… Goalscoring is an opportunity. We got it, and we did not score, but they got it and they scored.

” He emphasized that his team had chances to score but couldn’t capitalize on them.

Despite downplaying Kotoko’s performance, Boadu acknowledged the Porcupine Warriors’ experience and quality.

He wished his team had taken their chances to score, which would have changed the outcome.

Asante Kotoko will face Golden Kick in the FA Cup final on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium. The winner will represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

The match promises to be an exciting encounter between two determined teams.
