Be proactive, Ex President tells SSNIT

The ex-President, John Dramani Mahama, has urged the Social Security and National Insurance Trust to make efforts to pay a proportional amount of money to the trust’s contributors as lots may be having challenges in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.

He noted the importance of SSNIT contributions in the lives of its membership which was not only set up for pensioners, but also to assist contributors in difficult times.

In his digital conversation, Mr Dramani said, a token payment will not be out of place for all contributors. Adding that, a three months (3 months) contribution as has been done in other places, would have been the right thing to do to lessen their challenges in feeding their families.

‘ I think a token payment of all contributors of a certain token sum of over three months would afforded many families of feeding their families in these abnormal times’. He said
