The Omanhene of the Basa Traditional Area and President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Owusu Sakyi III, has donated two brand-new Royal Jungle motorcycles and 40 high-quality plastic-metal chairs to the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Health Service to support security operations and healthcare delivery in the area.
The donation was made during an Akwasidae celebration held to mark the Omanhene’s 16th anniversary on the Basa Stool. The ceremony took place at the Basa Chief’s Palace in the Sene East District on Sunday, July 19, 2026, and brought together traditional leaders, residents and representatives of the security and health sectors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Owusu Sakyi III said the gesture formed part of his commitment to supporting state institutions that play a critical role in the development and well-being of the people.
He explained that the motorcycles would help the Police improve patrols and respond more quickly to security incidents, while the chairs would support health facilities and improve the working environment for healthcare delivery.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the Ghana Police Service, Bono East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Shaibu Osei, expressed appreciation to the Omanhene for the donation.
He assured the traditional authorities and residents that the Police Service would continue to work diligently to maintain peace, security and law and order within the area.
The Sene East District Director of Health Services, Dr. Emmanuel Waana Hen, who received the chairs on behalf of the Bono East Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, also thanked Nana Owusu Sakyi III for the support.
He assured the Omanhene and the people of the area that the items would be put to good use and properly maintained to help improve healthcare delivery.
The donation has been welcomed by residents and local leaders, who described it as a timely intervention that would strengthen the delivery of essential public services in the Basa Traditional Area.
They commended Nana Owusu Sakyi III for his continued commitment to community development and his support for institutions responsible for protecting the lives, health and security of residents.
