Baba Jamal Denies Vote-Buying Allegations in Ayawaso East NDC Primaries

Former Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, H.E. Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, who has been accused of vote buying during the recently held Ayawaso East Constituency NDC parliamentary primaries, has denied any involvement in the alleged act.

Speaking after the elections, Baba Jamal stated that he is not aware of any vote-buying activity during the primaries. He explained that he only later heard reports suggesting that television sets were allegedly distributed to influence voters.

According to him, the situation has now created an unexpected problem, as many people have begun visiting his office demanding television sets, even though he has no knowledge of any such distribution.

“The issue I have now is that people are coming to my office for their television, but I am not aware of it. I don’t even have television myself,” he reportedly said.

Baba Jamal insisted that he has done nothing wrong, stressing that his victory in the primaries was genuine and well-earned. He expressed confidence that the party would allow him to proceed without hindrance.

He further maintained that, based on his clean record in the elections, he should be given the opportunity to move forward as the legitimate winner of the contest.
