Public Relations Officer of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has explained the reasons behind the omission of Kofi Kinaata and Fameye from the Artist of the Year category.
Mr Robert Kleh speaking on Ahotor FM’s Mid-morning show dubbed Ahotor Mmre hosted by Obaapa Jane; he said the award scheme has its own rules and regulations.
He said that it is not something you see or think but demands a lot of work and input.
According to him the section on the scheme for Artist of the Year just like all other categories are govern by rules and regulations.
For instance before one will qualify, entry level requirement is to
Get a Hit song
An album
Multiple nominations
Then they rate to top 6 which (REQUIREMENT) is have had
Personal shows organized
Number of shows
Either its free shows or paid shows
Digital play store achievement
Street publicity
Album
Cross boarder effect
And many others
And at this point Kofi Kinaata and Fameye did not meet requirement but Joe Mettle did hence his appearance and their non-appearance
He also mentioned that the debate amongst people is no new thing to them because the Board Members themselves normally does a lot of fighting in there before they finally by the help of the rule get qualified persons.
