The Tema region of the electricity company of Ghana in its vigilance has retrieved an amount of GHC 6 million of power theft from customer in 2021 within their enclave
The region last year doubled their efforts in recovering every pesewa to help reduce commercial losses and improve revenue collection of the company
In an interview with Ahotor FM reporter Rebecca Lartey in Tema, the general manager of Tema region for ECG, Eng. Emmanuel Akinie said a number of customers were apprehended last year
He said the region has over the years descended on recalcitrant customers who are bent on using the power illegally by recovering millions of cedi’s through a special arrangement
He noted that ECG has a special package for persons who report illegal activities. He therefore encourages the general public to report persons using power illegally for a handsome reward.
