AUDIO: TDC to Deliver About 800 Two-Bedroom Self-Contained Houses by June 2026 – MD Assures President Mahama

Ho, Ghana, 17 December: The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr. Courage M. K. Nunekpeku, has assured President John Dramani Mahama that the company will deliver about 800 completed two-bedroom self-contained housing units to the government by June 2026.

Mr. Nunekpeku said construction works under the government’s affordable housing policy are progressing steadily, with some contractors already ahead of schedule.

He gave the assurance on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, during the sod-cutting ceremony for the TDC Oxygen City Housing Development in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

According to him, the pace of work marks a historic milestone in the operations of TDC.

“We will be delivering about 800 two-bedroom self-contained houses by June next year. This has never happened in the history of TDC within such a short period. Work is progressing very well, and we can assure the President that very soon we will invite him again to commission these houses to add to what we already have,” Mr. Nunekpeku stated.

The TDC Managing Director expressed appreciation to the contractors for their commitment and steady progress, and also acknowledged the support of the company’s development partners.

Earlier, the government, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, officially cut the sod for the Oxygen City project, a major housing and urban development initiative aimed at transforming the Volta Region’s housing landscape.

The ambitious project, being developed by TDC Ghana Limited, is a large-scale, integrated urban development spanning approximately 1,860 acres of land. It will feature a mix of modern apartments, townhouses, serviced plots, commercial spaces, a golf course, and diverse leisure and recreational facilities.

The development will include multi-storey two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, well-planned road networks, reliable water and electricity supply, and key social infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, markets, shopping centres, hotels, and recreational areas.

Spearheaded by TDC Ghana Limited under the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, the Oxygen City project is expected to significantly ease housing pressure in the region while accelerating urban development, job creation, and economic growth in the Volta Region.
