AUDIO: President Mahama Launches TDC’s Oxygen City Housing Development in Ho

Ho, Ghana, 17 December: The government, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, cut the sod for a major housing development project in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

The ambitious project, dubbed Oxygen City, is a large-scale, integrated urban development designed to transform the region’s housing landscape. It will feature a mix of modern apartments, townhouses, serviced plots, commercial spaces, a golf course, and a wide range of leisure and recreational facilities.

According to the government, Oxygen City is being developed by TDC Ghana Limited on approximately 1,860 acres of land. The project will include multi-storey two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, well-planned road networks, reliable water and electricity supply, as well as key social infrastructure such as a hospital, hotel, schools, markets, shopping centres, and recreational areas.

Spearheaded by TDC Ghana Limited under the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, the project is expected to significantly ease housing pressure within the catchment area while accelerating urban development and economic activity in the Volta Region.

Located in the Adaklu Traditional Area, Oxygen City marks TDC’s first major development outside Tema, where its flagship project, Community 27, is situated.

The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, commended the government and TDC for initiating the project, describing it as a timely intervention that would improve living standards and stimulate economic growth in the region.
