(AUDIO): Mahama Pledges Palm Plantation Boost and Cocoa Revival for Akroso, Promises Jobs and Economic Growth

John Dramani Mahama, the NDC Presidential Candidate, has pledged to promote palm plantations in the Akroso area to increase employment and productivity if elected.

Highlighting the region’s abundance of palm resources, he explained that encouraging local palm cultivation would be a natural fit, offering a valuable opportunity for residents.

During his stop in Akroso as part of his Eastern Regional tour, John Mahama emphasized that the initiative would reduce unemployment and stimulate the local economy.

He also addressed concerns over the cocoa sector, asserting that it has deteriorated under the NPP administration.

He promised that a new NDC government would revitalize the cocoa industry, ensuring that communities like Akroso would see tangible benefits.

John Mahama further committed to supporting local gari factories by offering them soft loans to expand their operations, with the goal of motivating more people to enter the business and create more jobs.

“The NPP has let the cocoa sector decline, but an NDC administration will restore it to its former glory. We will encourage palm cultivation and provide soft loans to gari factories so they can grow and employ more people,” he stated.

In addition, he promised to upgrade the Akroso polyclinic to hospital status to improve healthcare access in the community.

Confident in the NDC’s prospects for the December 7 elections, Mr. Mahama assured residents that his administration would address the challenges facing the nation and “reset” the country from the issues created by the current government.
