(Audio) Fighting against unemployment: It is possible if we put in more efforts as a country- Rev Teye Bariga.

Reverend Teye Bariga, the former General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), has emphasized the need for significant efforts to combat the high unemployment rate in Ghana.

He believes that reforming the country’s educational system and shifting the focus from predominantly white-collar jobs to vocational training can create more job opportunities.

Reverend Bariga suggested that increased emphasis on vocational and training institutions can equip people with practical skills, reducing their reliance on government employment.

He shared that during his tenure, the GPCC collaborated with the government to support vocational training initiatives.

They offered training in various skills such as liquid soap making, snail farming, grasscutter rearing, and Dettol making.

In his interview with Anigye Hene Abeiku Yamoah on Property Daybreak, Reverend Bariga called on authorities to change the focus from white-collar jobs to vocational skills, asserting that this shift is crucial for the youth to thrive and for the country to effectively address unemployment.
