Attorney General Not Overwhelmed by ORAL Committee Report – Kwaakye Ofosu Assures Public

In response to concerns that the Attorney General’s office may be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of cases outlined in the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee’s report, Minister of State for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has dismissed such fears.

Speaking to the media, Ofosu emphasized that the Attorney General’s office is fully equipped and capable of handling the legal proceedings necessary to recover misappropriated funds and assets.

He reassured the public that the government has the resources, expertise, and legal framework to prosecute individuals implicated in the report without delays.

His remarks come after President John Dramani Mahama received the ORAL Committee’s report, which revealed that 36 out of over 2,000 complaints had the potential to recover $21.19 billion in state funds and assets.

Following the report’s presentation, the President immediately directed the Attorney General to investigate and prosecute those found guilty of financial mismanagement or illegal acquisitions.

Despite concerns about the magnitude of the cases, Ofosu maintained that the government remains committed to ensuring justice is served and that those responsible for looting public resources are held accountable without compromise.
