
Chairman of the Ashanti regional chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Andrews Nana Akwasi has sent a strong warning to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare to make sure peace prevail at Kumawu on Tuesday because the NDC are not cowards.
According to him, the NDC are well discipline but they will not sit down for any intimidation that will come on them during the hours of voting in Kumawu on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media on campaign grounds in Kumawu, he pleaded to the constituents to take their message at heart and vote for the umbrella candidate Akwasi Amankwa for development in the constituency.
Again, he said whether the NPP like it or not, the by election is going into their favor and Akwasi Amankwaa will be the next member of parliament for the people of Kumawu in the Ashanti region.
The Electoral Commission wishes to announce for the information of the general public that following the death of the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency; Hon. Philip Basoah, the seat of the constituency in Parliament has become vacant.
“In accordance with Article 112 (5) of the constitution as amended, the Electoral Commission will hold a by-election in the constituency on Tuesday, May 23 2023.
