
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched an intensive manhunt for Martin Amoah, also known as Baba Macho, who is a prime suspect in the robbery and killing of a mobile money vendor in Kumasi.
The police have described him as a dangerous fugitive and believe he may be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-On-Offin, Accra, or parts of the Central Region.
At a press conference, Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe confirmed that other suspects linked to the crime have been arrested and are currently in police custody.
He assured the public that every effort is being made to track down Baba Macho and bring him to justice.
“We are calling on the public to assist with any credible information that will lead to his arrest. Anyone found harboring the suspect will face legal consequences,” DCOP Teye-Cudjoe warned.
The police have intensified surveillance in the identified locations and urged residents to remain vigilant.
The killing of the mobile money vendor has sparked outrage, with many calling for stronger security measures to protect businesses and individuals handling large sums of cash.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on Baba Macho’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or call the emergency hotlines, assuring that all informants will be protected.
