Chairman Joe. Joseph Awuku popularly called Chairman Joe, the Communication Officer of the NDC in the Ashaiman constituency, and Chairman of the Serial Callers And Texters Association of Ghana, has issued a stern warning to Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Minority Leader in Parliament, ( MP Effutu) to apologize to Ashaiman MP Hon. Ernest Norgbe and the entire constituency.
This comes after Afenyo-Markin allegedly made unpalatable remarks, claiming Norgbe incited NDC MPs to beat minority members during parliamentary proceedings. He made the statement on Ahotor fm 92.3 Adekye Mu Nsem program, with Citizen Kofi Owusu.
Chairman Joe emphasized that despite the NDC’s overwhelming majority, they are treating NPP MPs with kid gloves, which may bring the NDC caucus into disrepute if they don’t stand up against the opposition’s “treacherous act and vindictive posturing.”
He also noted that Norgbe is an honorable and law-abiding MP who would not disrupt parliamentary proceedings.
The Ashaiman Constituency has given Afenyo-Markin an ultimatum to render a public apology by January 31, 2025.
Observers have expressed concerns about the recent happenings in Parliament, calling on Speaker Alban Bagbin to take disciplinary action to restore sanity in the House.
