Asante Kotoko Communications Director Sarfo Duku has disclosed that the club is actively pursuing the appointment of an experienced head coach ahead of the upcoming season.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently without a substantive head coach following the resignation of Karim Zito, with Prince Yaw Owusu serving in an interim role until the end of the campaign.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Duku confirmed that discussions are ongoing to secure a seasoned tactician capable of rebuilding and repositioning the team.
“We are hoping and working to appoint an experienced manager going into next season,” he stated. “It could be either a local coach or an expatriate who can transform the playing body.”
Despite a challenging campaign marked by inconsistency, Duku stressed that the club remains focused and determined to finish the season strongly.
“The season is almost over with four games left, but we are not giving up because anything can happen,” he added.
Kotoko have endured a difficult run in the league and currently sit sixth on the table, trailing leaders by 10 points. With the title race slipping out of reach, attention is increasingly turning toward rebuilding efforts and long-term planning ahead of the next season.
