Asante Kotoko Sign Budding Talent From Young Apostles

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have announced their first signing of the emergency window where teams are making strategic moves to augment their squads.

Ghana Premier League record holders Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Young Apostles goalkeeper Benjamin Twum on a permanent contract, AhotorSports can confirm.

The nineteen year old national Under 20 shot stopper has been impressive for the Apostles in the Ghana Premier League which has caught the eyes of the technical handlers of his new club.

Kotoko announced Twum’s signing

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum  speaking on Twum’s move:

“Benjamin is a young goalkeeper with exceptional potential. Despite his age, he has shown maturity and composure in his performances. We’re excited to have him as part of our team and look forward to his growth with us.”

The young talented was part of part of the team that qualified Young Apostles to the Ghana’s elite division last season from  Division One and has continued to be an integral part of the Wenchi based club in the ongoing season.

He expressed his joy after completing his move to Asante Kotoko.

“It’s honestly overwhelming to join Kotoko. This is a club I’ve admired for as long as I can remember, and the opportunity to be part of it is something I couldn’t have imagined at this stage of my career. I’m here to learn, grow, and give my all whenever I’m called upon. The support and belief from everyone I’ve met so far at the club already mean so much to me.”, he told Kotoko media.

Benjamin Twum was a pivotal member of the Black Satellites squad that finished as runners up in the last edition of the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship where they painfully lost to Nigeria in the final.

He’s been given the no.13 jersey and will be facing competition from established Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Kamara and Frederick Asare at the goalkeeping area at the club.
