Ghanaian football giants Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have officially announced the mutual termination of their contract with defender Joseph Ablorh, effective immediately.

The Porcupine Warriors stated that this difficult decision was made solely in the best interests of the club, allowing both parties to move forward as the team continues its push in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season and prepares for future challenges.

AhotorSports checks reveal the sudden termination of Joseph Ablorh’s contract with Asante Kotoko was primarily driven by ongoing disciplinary concerns.

The defender had reportedly been suspended from first-team training in recent days due to repeated indiscipline, particularly related to behavior at the club’s accommodation facilities.

This follows earlier hints of internal issues, including a December 2025 incident where assistant coach Prince Owusu publicly noted withdrawing Ablorh from a match warmup “to save him,” amid broader team struggles.

Ablorh, who joined Kotoko in July 2024 on a two-year deal from Guinean side Hafia FC, contributed to the squad’s defensive efforts during his time with the club, bringing experience and leadership from his previous accolades, including a spot in the Guinean Ligue 1 Team of the Season.

The club expressed gratitude for his professionalism and wished him success in his future endeavors, while fans and analysts speculate on potential squad adjustments ahead of upcoming fixtures.
