Asante Kotoko midfielder Seth Kwadwo has acknowledged that the departure of striker Albert Amoah to Libyan giants Al Ahli Benghazi is a significant loss for the club.
Amoah’s impressive performance for the Porcupine Warriors, including 16 goals in 30 appearances, made him a key player in the team.
Seth Kwadwo, who recently won a Man of the Match award in the Premier League, emphasized that Amoah’s departure will be felt by the team. “Albert Amoah’s departure is a big blow, but then, we also have to show our quality in his absence,” he said.
Amoah’s contributions to the team went beyond his goal-scoring ability, as he played a crucial role in Kotoko’s attacking plays.
Amoah also made an impact in continental football, scoring two goals in four appearances during the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds. Although Kotoko was eliminated from the competition, Amoah’s performance showcased his talent and potential to a wider audience.
Amoah’s move to Al Ahli Benghazi represents a major step in his career, joining one of Libya’s most successful clubs with a rich history in CAF inter-club competitions.
With Amoah’s departure, Kotoko will need to regroup and find ways to replace his goal-scoring ability and creative playmaking. Seth Kwadwo and the team are determined to rise to the challenge and prove their quality in Amoah’s absence.
