Asante Kotoko in talks with C.K. Akonnor

Asante Kotoko is in early talks to reappoint Charles Kwablan Akonnor as head coach for the 2025/26 season. Akonnor previously led the club from 2018 to 2019.

Current interim coach Abdul Karim Zito has been tasked with winning the Premier League and FA Cup titles.

With four matches left, Kotoko’s focus remains on securing these trophies.

Discussions between Kotoko and Akonnor are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached yet. Akonnor’s potential return would mark a significant development for the club.

Asante Kotoko will face Dreams FC in Matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League this weekend before focusing on the FA Cup final against Golden Kick on June 15.
