Asante Kotoko Coach Remains Cautious Despite GPL Title Race Advantage

Asante Kotoko head coach has tempered expectations after his team’s narrow 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea propelled them to the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

Kotoko now holds a slim one-point advantage over second-placed Bibiani GoldStars with ten matches remaining in the season.

The coach acknowledged the challenges posed by Berekum Chelsea, expressing relief at securing the win.

“It was a very challenging game, but the important thing is that at the end of the day, we won,” he said.

Despite their struggles to create clear chances, Kotoko’s resilience paid off when defender Daniel Adjetey scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute.

The coach emphasized the need to stay focused and take the title race one game at a time.

“We just have to take it game by game, that is what I will tell you. The focus is on the next game, and that is what we will be preparing for.”

This cautious approach reflects the intense competition in the GPL, where a single slip-up can have significant consequences.

As the season enters its final stretch, the GPL title race is heating up. Kotoko’s lead is precarious, and they will need to maintain their momentum to stay ahead of the pack.

The team’s next match will be crucial in determining their chances of claiming the title.
