Asante Kotoko Coach Karim Zito Slams Asante Kotoko’s Outstanding League Schedule

Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has criticized the Ghana Premier League schedule, citing the Wednesday-Sunday fixture routine as a cause of fatigue among his players.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw against Aduana FC, Zito revealed his squad’s tiredness forced him to skip training sessions ahead of the match.

“The FA should look into it in future because it’s taking a toll on the players,” Zito said. “Wednesday-Sunday fixtures are tough for us; we’re not Europeans. They have energy, what they eat, and the supplements they take – not to dope, but to give them what our bodies can’t provide.”

Asante Kotoko will look to return to winning ways when they host Young Apostles on Wednesday, hoping to shake off the fatigue and secure a much-needed victory.
