Alex Setsoafia Avorkpo, Secretary of NDC Insight, a youth group within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has warned the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be cautious in their governance, stressing that Ghana is the only country they all have.
Speaking on Yepeahunu on Ahotor FM, he emphasized that the country’s forefathers fought hard to build it, and if the NPP government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, cannot improve on what they inherited, they should at least refrain from causing damage.
Avorkpo expressed concerns about the rising violence under the current administration, urging the government to address these issues before they destabilize the country. He called on the president to focus on leaving a positive legacy for future generations rather than exacerbating tensions.
Regarding parliamentary issues, he praised the current Speaker of Parliament for his balanced approach and urged the NPP to accept their new role in parliament, noting that the precedent they set during previous elections is now affecting them.
He concluded by advising the NPP to stop complaining and adapt to the situation.
