Match week 7 of the Ghana premier league saw Asante Kotoko, Nsoatreman and Berekum Chelsea record win meanwhile Hearts of Oak, Young Apostles and Vision FC recorded stalemates. Below is recap of proceedings.
On Saturday, Accra Lions recorded a goalless stalemate against new boys Young Apostles at the University of Ghana Stadium. Goalkeeper Maswudu Zulka’s heroics prevented the host from scoring.
On Sunday, Asante Kotoko took on defending Champions Samartex 1996 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. Albert Amoah fired in from close range after latching on to Baba Yahaya’s pass. Back from recess Samartex Emmanuel Mamah missed a golden opportunity to even the scores. The host held on to record a narrow 1-0 win against Samartex.
At Tuba Astro turf, Dreams FC held Accra Hearts of Oak to a 0-0 draw. Dreams FC are yet to win this season meanwhile Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has gone 5 games without conceding.
At Duns Park, Ronald Frimpong’s strike in the first half was enough as Bibiani Goldstars recorded a 1-0 win over Aduana FC. At the Golden City park, Berekum Chelsea recorded a 3‐1 win over Legon Cities. Emmanuel Sarpong, Stephen Amankona and Mohammed Abdul Rahman were on target for the home side.
Elsewhere, Vision FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Bechem United. At the Tarkwa TNA Sports Stadium, Nebosja Kapor’s side secured a crucial 1-0 win over Nations FC. Nsoatreman FC secured a 2-0 win over Basake Holy Stars thanks to Collins Cudjoe and Mohammed Abdul Rahman.
Bibiani Goldstars maintain their 1st position on the league table with 15 points. Kotoko are 2nd with 14 points. Legon Cities lie buttom on the table with a point.
