Thomas Partey Not Injured But Sick – GFA Communication Director Reveals
The Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association , Henry Asante Twum, has clarified the absence of midfielder Thomas Partey from the Black Stars’ upcoming match against Sudan.
Contrary to rumors of injury, Asante Twum revealed that Partey is not injured but has been ruled out due to illness.
In an interview on another platform , Asante Twum expressed that Thomas Partey is not dealing with any physical injury, but unfortunately, he has been taken ill after his sunday’s game against Southampton in the English Premier League.
He further explained that the medical team advised the technical team to allow the player to recover fully since he is a key player for both the Black Stars and his club Arsenal .
Despite Partey’s absence, the Black Stars are focused on securing a positive result in their upcoming match against Sudan in the 2025 Afcon Qualifiers.
The players of the Black Stars who received call-ups but was unable to make it due to injury or different reasons includes Thomas Partey , Kingsley Schindler , Osman Ibrahim and Joseph Painstil . They are replace by Micheal Baodoo , Abu Francis , Jonas Adjetey and Ibrahim Sadick .
