Former Ayawaso West Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Yeboah, has expressed strong doubts about the party’s chances in the 2024 elections, regardless of the running mate.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Simpieso show with host Emmanuel Martey, Yeboah remarked that they would still lose even if the NPP presented a team as esteemed as Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed.
Yeboah attributed the NPP’s impending defeat to the current hardships in the country, which he blames on the NPP government.
He believes nothing can prevent the party from losing the upcoming general elections.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, has proposed Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate.
Sources from the presidency reported that Dr. Bawumia consulted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his choice.
After receiving guidance and endorsement from the President, Bawumia highlighted NAPO’s qualifications, including his medical degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and his extensive political experience since being elected to Parliament in 2008.
Despite this selection, Yeboah insists that the NPP faces inevitable defeat.
He contends that choosing NAPO as the running mate does not improve the party’s chances and may worsen their situation.
