Joseph Awuku, the Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashaiman Constituency, urges party members to take decisive action against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) instead of merely voicing their grievances on the radio.
Mr. Awuku has highlighted concerns among some NDC members regarding the NPP allegedly transporting people to register in different constituencies, a tactic they find troubling. He stressed that the NDC should be aware that they do not have the support of the Electoral Commission and the security agencies, and thus, complaining on the radio will not resolve the issue.
Chairman Joe emphasized that the NDC must take proactive steps to prevent the busing of individuals to different constituencies. This comes amidst rising alarms from NDC members over the alleged busing of voters in various constituencies nationwide.
These members have called on the National Security, the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), the Ghana Police Service, and all security agencies to take note of the NPP’s actions and prevent any potential disturbances during the Electoral Commission’s voter transfer exercise.
However, during an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s morning show with host Citizen Kofi Owusu, Chairman Joe advised his fellow NDC members not to depend on the security agencies for fair elections. He argued that the Electoral Commission and security agencies are aligned with the ruling party, making complaints ineffective.
Joseph Awuku reiterated that the NDC is determined to win the 2024 elections and must match the NPP’s efforts “boot for boot” rather than just complaining about the Electoral Commission’s activities on the radio.
