Ghanaian actor Clemento Suarez recently expressed his hope that entertainers in the country would refrain from smoking.
In a social media post, he stated, “I wish above all things that the Ghanaian talent stopped smoking.”
This comes in the wake of a trend where many new Ghanaian entertainers and celebrities openly smoke in public, prompting concerns about their influence as role models.
For instance, Medikal admitted to smoking weed in a video, drawing criticism from some who view him as a role model. Similarly, Shatta Wale has been seen smoking on Facebook Live while interacting with fans.
