Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, is visiting several registration centers in the Greater Accra Region today, Monday, May 26, 2024, as part of the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s tour of the Greater Accra Region follows a similar visit to the Eastern Region, where he donated supplies to Electoral Commission officials and registrants. His active participation in these visits comes shortly after returning from an overseas medical checkup, reinforcing his commitment to helping the NDC secure victory in the upcoming general elections.
Ben Doe, an aide to Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo, confirmed the tour during an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM’s morning show “AdeKyee Mu Nsem,” hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu.
The former NDC Chairman plans to visit multiple constituencies in Greater Accra, including Ledzokuku, Krowor, Tema East, Tema West, and Tema Central, concluding his tour in the Ashaiman constituency.
The limited voter registration exercise, which began on May 7, aims to register 623,000 eligible individuals across the country. This 21-day initiative is focused on registering those who have recently turned 18 and others who have not previously registered to vote.
Registration is being conducted at 1,053 centers nationwide, including 268 district offices of the Electoral Commission (EC) and 785 additional centers in remote areas, established in consultation with political parties.
