Charles MacCarthy, editor-in-chief of the Hawk Newspaper, is questioning the government about the cost of reconstructing the Appiatse community. He highlighted that significant donations from individuals and companies were made for the community’s reconstruction, and the government should be transparent and accountable to the citizens regarding these funds.
The tragic incident at Appiatse, where explosives intended for a mine site detonated, resulting in the loss of sixteen lives, injuries to many, and the destruction of the entire community, deeply saddened the nation. During an interview on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s ‘Simpieso‘ with host Emmanuel Martey, Mr. MacCarthy urged the government to provide truthful accounts to the citizens regarding the reconstruction process.
