Nana Yaa Akyempim Jantuah, former General Secretary of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), is questioning the circumstances surrounding Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu’s reported resignation as Majority Leader in Parliament. She asserts that it is essential for him to directly address the Ghanaian public and confirm whether he has indeed stepped down from his position.
Jantuah expresses her skepticism regarding the situation, particularly highlighting the swift transition of Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu to the role of chairman of the manifesto committee for the NPP shortly after the alleged resignation. She emphasizes that such a rapid change raises doubts and suggests that there should be a proper process followed within the party if the majority members and the party no longer wish for him to serve as their leader.
Furthermore, Jantuah underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in political leadership, stating that until Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu publicly confirms his resignation and provides reasons for it, she refuses to accept it.
Her stance suggests a demand for clarity and adherence to democratic processes within the party, rather than accepting abrupt changes without proper explanation.
