National Communication Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Anim Piesie has asked the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) on why their supporting the shifting of general elections from December 7 to November 7 now after kicking against it in 2016.
According to him, the current proposal of the Jean Mensah Electoral Commission was introduced by the then Charlotte Osei administration in 2016 but was kicked against by the NPP.
He said the move then was to give more room for the government in power to prepare before transition for the next administration to take over but the then NPP in opposition played politics with it.
Commenting on the said proposal of the now EC, Anim Piesie indicated that, Ghanaians and political parties are planning ahead of December 7 hence the said proposal should not be accepted by parliament.
He said the current government planted bad seeds in opposition and that is hunting them now.
Anim Piesie said if the November 7 proposal would have push true way back in 2016, Ghanaians would have been used to it by now.
