It’s very bizarre, unfortunate, and foreign to say with all the reality of the abysmal performance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government with severe economic hardship the country is going through calls for change.
Ghanaians are ready to vote NPP out of power and any political dynamics put by any opinion leaders will not change the voice of change for the National Democratic Congress to take over the seat of government.
Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s win of the NPP primaries and consequently win the national election in 2024 December does not add up.
He is of the view that the presidency and the hawks in the party have skewed the contest in favor of Dr. Bawumia and the outcome of tomorrow’s contest cannot change the victory of John Dramani Mahama in December 2024.
The Ashanti Deputy Regional Secretary Baah Akyeamfor, said this on the Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM in Accra, hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu.
He opined that it’s very unfortunate to draw this conclusion with the projection that Dr. Bawumia can only emerge from the polls on the 4th of November with 68%.
Since the election is a process and not a one-day event President Nana Akufo-Addo and his team have started this process with appointments of Municipal Chief Executives, District Chief Executives, and another ministerial appointment till now; how fair is the election? This he asks.
Baah Akyeamfor said Dr. Bawumia winning the 2024 presidential election is insulting and to him, this could be one of the failed political campaign promises.
The severe economic hardship Ghanaians are going through with high prices of goods and services, corruption, cronyism, and the collapse of the economy are the indicators that will inform the people to vote, not failed campaign promises.
He reiterated saying, which records Dr. Bawumia is going to speak to if he emerged from the NPP primaries presidential election. NDC is ready to meet him comes December 2024.
