The indiscipline and unprofessional conduct coming from the military and the uncoordinated security lapses among our intelligence command post are disturbing the public peace and creating tension among communities who have suffered from the torture and brutalities from the military in recent times.
The recent past military and national security torture and brutality and Ashiaman, Ayawas Wougon must guide us to create an environment of good relation between the security and civilian relationship in fighting terrorism.
This approach by the military has become too of a many in the country in responding to any disagreement between the military and the civilian community.
The National security and fraud expert Mr. Richard Kumado discloses this on Adekye Mu Nsem’s morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM in Accra and hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu.
He is of the view that it’s on record that, the Northern part is already declared a terrorist enclave and there is an anti-terror unit in Bawku, and deploying another anti-terror unit to enter Garu does not add up.
Unfortunately, the letter purported to come from National Security has not been signed to prove its authenticity, in confirming if these officers are coming from the national security.
He opined that this is another; unprofessional conduct on the part of the military that can be considered to be very unfortunate and barbaric.
Mr. Richard Kumado called for an investigation into this unprofessional conduct where authorities of the military high command must show a way to punish the officers who are involved in this act.
Mr. Richard Kumado reiterated that it’s about 200 people have been brutalized in the Garu incidents and are now in the hospital receiving treatment, which is untoward and can be avoided.
He said the standard of our military forces is becoming irresponsible in their engagement with their civilian community throughout the country with little incidents of civil encounter which he believes can be handled with professionalism without any cause of attacks. And call on the military high command to stand up to the task to maintain law and order in all ranks of commander to nip this bad conduct in the bud.
