New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer aspirant, Francis Addai-Nimoh has bemoaned the division in the party going into the 2024 elections likely going to affect the fortunes of the party and there is the need for the party to forge ahead to work as a team.
Addai-Nimoh said Alan Kyerematen’s departure from the party is a clear indication that all is not well within the NPP. After August 26, the unity in the party is shaking, and we will all have to work on it to improve the fortune of the party after the primaries.
So, we are on slippery ground as far as the unity of the party is concerned because Mr. Kyerematen has taken the decision to leave the party, and for me, that is unpleasant and I would wish that it didn’t happen that way, but that is his personal decision he added.
In a surprising turn of events, Alan Kyerematen, a prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the former Minister for Trade and Industry, announced his decision to break away from the party and run as an independent candidate in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Kyerematen’s decision has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, as he has been a steadfast member of the NPP for many years.
He opines that Kyerematen, as a seasoned politician, is widely recognized for his contributions to the NPP and his roles in various government positions.
However, at a press conference held in Accra, Mr. Kyerematen noted that “it is abundantly clear to him that, his services and contributions to the Party are not appreciated.
But Mr. Addai-Nimoh believes the party’s leadership needs to do a lot if it wants to retain power.
