The Tema West Constituency Chairman Hon. Kwesi Poku has said there is a need for the entire New Patriotic Party (NPP) to keep the leading member of the party Alan Kwadwo Kwremanteng resignation silent by respecting his decision for resigning from the party. He said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor FM in Accra.
In his opinion is the surest way to keep the unreserved comments coming from some party members in respect of his decision. He further said the attitude and unguarded statements from the Ashanti regional chairman Wutumi must be checked going forward.
He believes this, can help to control negative comments coming from supporters at the party grassroots who are sympathetic to Alan.
He said though he feels very bad about the loss of Alan going into the 2024 elections, which has to do with numbers, he believes it likely can affect the chance of NPPP losing some votes from Alan’s followers.
Touching on the limited voter registration exercise he said the directives from the Electoral Commission (EC) have cost the two leading political parties financially (NDC&NPP) in conveying potential voters to the EC district office to register.
He further stated that even the time involved and feeding cost for the people has really cost the executives who were involved in the exercise.
He is of the opinion that, he and his team are in collaboration with the National Democratic Congress to assist all the remaining potential voters who could not make it on the last day of the exercise, and will continue today to complete the registration at the EC district office.
Hon. Romeo Akahoho, the Executive Secretary of, the Chamber for Local Governance, who was also on the show said is very unfortunate the Chairperson of the EC Madam Jean Mensah could not see the challenges and problems that arise from the limited voter registration exercise, where she refused to adhere to calls from Civil Society Organisation (CSO) other relevant institutions advice should have been helpful to control all these excesses in the exercise.
Touching on the #Occupy BOG, he said it’s very unfortunate the state institution has lost its primary role in this challenging time by engaging in wasteful ventures that have caused huge financial losses to the state.
In another development, the leader for Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold Mr. Fred Forson decry how most of his members have died and lost their investment through mismanagement of state funds from regulators and the control of interest by state power, especially politicians seeking their personal interest than protecting individual investment portfolio for living.
