The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mantey has lamented over the rampant betting ongoing on our various social media space which has negatively influenced the youth.
According to Rt. Rev. Prof. JOY Mantey, a lot of the youth don’t want to engage in any difficult or serious work and resorted to only betting. Prof. Mantey said the most serious aspect of this betting issue is the addiction of our University students who will prefer to use their tuition fee for betting rather than paying the fees and this canker has to stop with immediate effect because it has dying consequences on the future generation.
Prof. Mantey called on the Central Government, guardians, and parents to see this phenomenon as a canker that will destroy the youth in the near future and the Government should see this as a matter of urgency in putting in measures to curb the menace.
