My comments were taken out of context  – Mohammed Polo

The Dribbling Magician,  Mohammed Polo has debunked rumors that he has called on the Ghana Football Association to sack the current black stars coach Chris Hughton for his incompetence.

Speaking to these comments on another platform, he emphasized that he never said the black stars coach is incompetent and must be sacked considering the crop of players available but he was trying to analyze the black stars game against Madagascar where the stake was high and needed some tactical decisions.

“When some journalists listen to something, they go overboard and try to bring in some sorts of sensational just for people to come whether the people like it or not. I didn’t say that, I was trying to explain what happened in the last match they played against Madagascar,  the stake was high, we know what happened to us in the world cup,  the stake was very high with the kind of foreign-born players invited we expect the game to improve and see world-class football. “

This follows Ghana’s goalless draw against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The result means Hughton remains unbeaten since taking charge of the Black Stars, but has won just one in three games.

Mohammed Polo ‘Dribbling Magician”, is arguably the most technically gifted player ever to emerge from Ghana.

He was in the Ghana squad that won the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ghana.
