We need National policy not laptop – Odike tells Bawumia
Founder and leader of Union Government, a new political party in Ghana, Akwasi Addai Odike has called on the vice president H.E Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to come back on the drawing table for his one student one laptop policy because the country currently needs national policy and not laptop.
According to him, the government has collapsed the Basic School on his freebies and lack of commitment hence the private sector has taken over the Basic education cycle.
Speaking to the media monitored by Ahotor FM, the former leader of the UPP political party said, the national policy he is talking about will guide Ghana Education Service (GES) on how to go through technological advancement and the digitalization the government of the day is talking about.
In his comment, Odike mentioned that, we have schools in the country, where children need desk and other equipment to learn which is the fundamental needs. But we have a president who will wish to provide laptop instead of doing the needful, he added.
