Christian Atsu has reportedly been trapped under rubble after a huge earthquake hit Turkey on Tuesday morning.
At least 1,400 people have died after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck.
There are concerns about Atsu. The Ghanaian currently plays for Super Lig club Hataysport. Several members of the team have already been rescued after the huge earthquake struck.
But Atsu is yet to be found, according to multiple reports form Turkey.
He scored a 97th minute winner for his side against Kasimpasa on Sunday, just hours before the natural disaster occurred at 4am on Monday morning while civilians were sleeping. Buildings collapsed as a result of the quake, which was felt by millions across Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus and Israel.
It is believed he is trapped under the rubble. The club’s sporting director, Taner Savut, is also said to be missing.
Our thoughts go out to the duo. Everyone at Ahotor Sport sends our best wishes and hopes they are found alive and well.
