The British Boxer, Ekow Essuman defeated Chris Kongo by majority decision to defend his titles and become a new WBC silver International title holder in Manchester.
In a fight that was viewed as evenly, Chris implemented his size advantage well in the early rounds as he attempted to keep Essuman at bay with his jab.
Chris Kongo continued to frustrate Essuman’s hopes of setting inside until Essuman started getting close in the sixth round to pin his opponent down to the ropes with heavy shots.
Essuman kept on increasing the tempo of the fight in the eleventh round as Kongo began to trade with him but a big left was landed by Essuman which hurt Kongo to force him to hold on.
Kongo was in trouble with unsteady legs but did his best to hold on with a couple of jabs while Essuman was busy landing the harder pinches.
One Judge had it draw 114 – 114, while two Judges scored 116- 113, and 115 – 114 in favour of Ekwo Essuman to win via majority decision.
