Minority back teacher unions against new GES boss
The Minority in Parliament have backed calls from the various teacher unions to reject newly appointed Acting Director General of GES, Dr Eric Nkansah
Speaking this morning on ‘Adekye Mu Nsem’ in an interview with Citizen Kofi Owusu, the ranking member on Education Committee and Member of Parliament for Akatsi North, Peter Nortsu Kortoe, he said, the appointment of the new GES boss came as a surprise to them
He said, they expected someone who has a professional background like the former director
He described this act of appointment by the president as a slap in the face of the profession and a mistake they want the president to correct
Meanwhile, Dr Eric Nkansah paid a courtesy call to the education minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum yesterday October 24, 202 where he stated that he will be meeting various stakeholders in the sector to share ideas and also listen to them towards the development of the sector
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum on his part commended Dr. Nkansah on his appointment and pledged to support him in the realisation of the objectives of the government to improve the education sector.
